It’s that time of the year again where we have to cut, trim & feed all our trees & bushes around the property. It’s never an easy job but I do think it’s lovely to see the end result. We know it will take a while this year as we are going to have to clear a lot of Lantana which has been exceptionally aggressive this year & trim the Camphor Laurels, get rid of the small Camphor’s & replace with natives instead. This is also the time Terry finds out if his electrical & mechanical tools are up to the job at hand & if they need parts or need to be replaced.
I have brought a few new plants which I am hoping will be a good addition to the land. I have 4 Hoop Pines which are good for the top of slopes & two native Cabbage Palms which I love the structure of. The additional plants I brought are the Queensland Tulipwood. It grows up to 15m and has large glossy leaves covered with dense white flowers in summer, followed by orange seed cases which I have been told is a very stunning tree. Don’t know how long I have to wait to see how gorgeous it is but I will just have to be patient.
